Zena Castle has been for many years the venue of cultural initiatives in which artistic events and meetings about current affairs have followed each other. In the seventies, after the first restoration work, a very interesting cultural event about literature and non-fiction, named “I libri degli amici” (“Friends’ books”) was started here. It brought to the rooms of the castle – always crowded for the occasion – the bestl known Italian writers. This event was then followed by other more markedly artistic events. Recently, despite the need to keep certain areas free for the project and research work prior to the new phase of intervention, the cultural vocation of the castle has been kept alive thanks to another series of initiatives.
